I would have given this 3 1/2 stars if I could have (let's do half stars, goodreads!). While I enjoyed the book, I just didn't find myself as engrossed as I usually am with a Cat and Bones book. Perhaps it was because the plot was a bit predictable (evil forces align against Cat and Bones!) or maybe the big threat just didn't seem as menacing as it could have been, but this book just didn't have me staying up all night to read it. The dialogue is still razor sharp and Cat and Bones' relationship has moved into a more secure and steady place, which was great to see. It was nice to see Tate again, even though he's still a bit of an ass (please please can we see him get a girlfriend?). I think it needed a bit more butt kicking instead of planning to amp up the tension. Overall I still liked it and am looking forward to the next book.
