I wasn't really sure what to expect from this book. I had friends who had raved about it but I was a bit apprehensive seeing that it was written in verse. I needn't have worried. It was a little hard at first getting used to the writing style but the structure of the writing quickly falls away and you're left with visceral emotions. I found myself holding my breath as I turned the page, unsure of what was going to happen next and feeling like I was right there with the characters.Exposed tackles a hard subject and, like real life, it isn't always black and white. While the ending may not be satisfying to some, I think it's much more true to life with all of its shades of grey. A powerful debut novel.
